Venkatesh and Trivikram coming together should have been a dream combination at the box office. But in the USA, Aadarsha Kutumbam’s advance bookings are telling a very different story.
Just $40K With Days to Go
With just days left for the USA premieres, Aadarsha Kutumbam’s premiere pre-sales are only in the $40K range. That’s very poor for a film of this combination.
A Million-Dollar Combination
On paper, Venkatesh and Trivikram are a combination that should open big in the USA. Trivikram’s films have always done strongly with US audiences, and Venkatesh is one of Telugu cinema’s most loved family heroes.
For this kind of pairing, the film should have been aiming for at least a $1 million premiere in North America.
Even $500K Looks Tough Now
At the current pace, even reaching $500K in premieres would need a big turnaround in the next two days. The gap between expectation and reality is huge.
Why the Buzz Is Low
The trailer and teaser have actually worked well for the film. So why isn’t it reflecting in the bookings?
The biggest reason is the repeated confusion over the release date. The film was told to distributors as October 30, then there was talk of November 13, and the date was finally confirmed only on Dussehra, just ten days before release. That left very little time to build momentum.
The music has also not helped. Of the two songs released, the first got a mixed response and the second drew a largely negative reaction. In Telugu cinema, songs play a big role in building pre-release buzz, especially for family entertainers, and the album hasn’t given the film the push it needed.
The Final Push
There’s still a small window left. Strong word of mouth from early shows can lift last-minute bookings, especially for family films that often see late surges.
But for now, Aadarsha Kutumbam’s USA start looks well below what this combination deserves. The next two days will decide how far the premieres can go.
Aadarsha Kutumbam releases in theatres on October 30.
